Three Bits of Advice for Life

Here's some good advice I received in the past from senior citizens:

1. Life is like a roll of toilet paper -- it goes faster near the end.
Yes, the first 20 years of life seem to take forever and then it escalates from there.

2. You have to learn to look past many mistakes/imperfections in people and life, because the older you get, the more you can spot.
True enough.

3. Go to the doctor regularly for exams.
A 101-year-old man once told me that as the reason why he was the only centenarian male among 9 female centenarians  in a particular nursing home. The man said his friends all avoided doctor exams and they had all passed on years earlier.
